We stopped by yesterday for lunch, so pleased we did. The food was delicious, I had the steak pie, I opted for chips rather than mash. The chips were some of the best I've tasted, unusual nowadays to get lovely hand cut freshly cooked, normally they give you oven chips, which I hate.
It came with nice fresh veg as well, the steak was cooked to perfection. My partner had the scampi, what a plateful he said it was delicious. The lady who looked after us was very attentive. Overall a great experience, I just wish I'd had room for a dessert. Dog made welcome as well with a couple of treats.

Fantastic little pub with a wonderful olde world atmosphere and proper home cooked food. Rather like sitting drinking in an antiques shop.

This has to be the best home cooked food I have had in ages, the chicken stroganoff is amazing along with the chicken curry and also the Yorkshire pudding, the puddings are top notch and the portion sizes are massive, you won't be disappointed with this place and the staff are friendly and a great laugh

Lovely little pub!! Great drinks and lovely food, very welcoming vibe and charming decor. Definitely worth popping in if you’re in the area and after a hot and tasty meal or a cold beer
Only stumbled upon this wonderful little place due to the main road been closed. What a find, Staff so friendly, locals the same. The food was so delicious and plentiful, and most excellent beers to boot. To give it 5 stars seems not enough. Update we was so impressed that we went back 2 more evenings, which I must stress was just as excellent.

Absolutely outstanding! Loved the quirky interior, it really brought back memories. Staff are extremely helpful and nice, they managed to fit us in with short notice, which we really appreciated. Our order was taken very promptly, and food served after only a short wait. The staff checked on us twice during our meal to make sure the food was okay, and to see if we wanted further drinks. All pretty impressive, but then the food....well, this was something else. Good portion sizes and an excellent range to choose from, even for me and I've got particular dietary requirements. The quality was excellent, and soooo tasty. They even make the effort and do proper chips, not the nasty frozen ones. They are delicious. Please keep up the good work, I'm giving you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ but you deserve more. Thank you for a superb meal. 👌Lovely pub to visit. Great decorations and atmosphere, really good food, staff friendly and polite. Great holiday experience. We definitely recommend it.

Called in today for Sunday lunch. The staff and other customers were very welcoming and friendly. I had turkey and my friend had beef. The plate was covered with lovely meat and it came with 2 homemade Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, new potatoes, carrots, broccoli and cabbage.
The decor is very quirky with plenty of interesting artefacts to look at.
The price for 2 drinks and 2 huge meals wasn’t expensive. It was well worth the money and we’ll definitely return the next time we’re in the area. Thank you 😊.- Parking space

What an amazing little place, we were treated to lovely fresh home made food in this family run pub, we were wowed by their welcome and attentive service. The portions were huge and amazing value for money. What a find, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely little village pub .👏👏👏👏👏

Grateful to be fitted in at late notice on Sunday afternoon. Quirky country pub with lots of great memorabilia. Really friendly staff. Very very tasty home cooked roast dinner. Good portion size & heavenly roast potatoes. Highly recommend. Thank you
